Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026  ·  Last updated: April 2026

Zus Player ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use the Zus Player mobile/TV application and the associated web dashboard at zusplayer.com (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of data in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the Service:

  • Device Identifier (MAC Address): Used to uniquely identify your device for activation and synchronisation purposes. This is the primary key that links your device to your saved configuration.
  • Device Key: A randomly generated token displayed in the app. Used to authenticate you on the web dashboard.
  • Playlist Configuration: If you use the web portal to add playlists, we store the playlist URLs or credentials you provide (e.g. server URL, username, password) in our encrypted database solely to synchronise them to your device. We never use this data for any other purpose.
  • Category Preferences: Your content category ordering and visibility settings (stored as a JSON layout) so your preferences persist across devices.
  • Email Address (reseller accounts only): If you register as a reseller, we collect your email address to manage your account.

We do not collect: real name, postal address, payment card details (payments are processed externally), advertising identifiers, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your device and provide access to the Service.
  • To synchronise your playlist configuration and preferences across devices.
  • To manage your activation status and subscription period.
  • To provide customer support when you contact us.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to third parties.

3. Media Playback — No Viewing Data Collected

Zus Player is a media player interface that connects your device directly to the playlist source you configure. All media streams travel directly from your source to your device — they do not pass through, or get logged by, our servers. We collect no data about what media you play, how long you watch, or any other viewing activity.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers protected by SSL/TLS encryption in transit and industry-standard encryption at rest. Access to the database is restricted to authorised personnel only. We retain your data for as long as your device activation is active. If you deactivate your device or delete your playlists, the associated data is removed from our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. We may engage trusted infrastructure providers (e.g. cloud hosting, database services) under strict data-processing agreements. These providers act only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

6. Browser Local Storage

When you log in to the web dashboard using your Device Key, we store a session token in your browser's localStorage. This token lets you remain logged in without re-entering your Device Key on every visit. It is removed automatically when you log out or clear your browser storage.

7. Children's Privacy

Zus Player is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of your account data, please contact us at [email protected]. You can also delete your playlist data at any time directly from the app (Settings → Delete Playlist) or by removing your device via the web portal.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
